We are thrilled to share that this year we will be, once again, hosting our celebrated Rupertswood Harvest Festival (Harvest Festival) onsite here at Salesian College Sunbury.
Our Rupertswood Harvest is an annual showcase and celebration of our
school’s diverse educational program.
It's a fun event that provides students with multiple opportunities to encounter, engage with, and elaborate on new knowledge and skills. It gives students the opportunity to put learning into action where they can develop their business management, customer service skills (including the processing of orders), time management, organisation, communication, and critical thinking through hosting and supporting stalls and running activities.
The Rupertswood Harvest was traditionally held as an Agricultural showcase, but over the last decade it has slowly grown to be a celebration of our overall school life. Students from across the years and learning areas now display and sell items they have worked on as part of their curriculum, while others organise and run activities and events to engage our local community.
Local businesses are also involved as stall holders, allowing us to support and engage the local community. The market component features stalls and food trucks where you can purchase small gifts, food, and produce (including produce from our Salesian College Farm).
Displays are a big part of Rupertswood Harvest too; there will be exhibitions showcasing student work, language immersion activities, stalls where students will share business concepts they have developed through the curriculum, and stages where live music is performed by student bands.
Typically, Rupertswood Harvest also provides an opportunity for our agriculture students to introduce and present the livestock from the Farm...but we also host a petting zoo so there's a chance to interact with some animals (especially fun for the little ones)!
Rupertswood Harvest really has something for everyone - live music, food and market stalls, and a variety of learning displays.
