The Simmental Stud began in 2015 at Salesian College Sunbury and has been consistently running since. The stud program allows the students to get a large insight into the cattle industry whilst operating amongst the historic dairy and 400-hectare farm.
The past four years have been very successful for the stud and has been a popular program for students, many of which have found jobs in the industry whilst still attending school as well as after graduation.
The steer program at Salesian College Sunbury commenced in 2017 as aspiring agricultural students were passionate to seeing Salesian expand their cattle program and introduce a carcass-based learning opportunity.
Exhibiting at the Royal Melbourne show, the steer program showcases the cattle to their best standards as well as the hard work, time and dedication given by the students themselves.
