Student Achievements

Josh Buzza (Year 11)
Josh Buzza recently represented Australia in the ‘Inline Hockey Championships’, which were held in New Zealand during the first week of term 2. Josh’s team was successful and they came away with a gold medal. Josh will now be playing for Australia at the Inline Hockey World Championships in China in September 2017. Congratulations Josh!

Lachlan Ball (Year 8)
Lachlan competed recently at the World Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin. Although he has only been dancing for four years, he has an impressive resume as the National Solo Champion, 3 x State Solo Champion and 2 x Australian International Champion. He achieved the highest Australian ranking in his section for the heats and achieved 26th place overall in the finals. This is a massive achievement for a young man who has been dancing for such a short time and for his first attempt at the World Championships. Congratulations Lachie!

Sam Richardson (Year12)
Year 12 student Sam Richardson will be taking to the stage in the new Bonnie Lythgoe Production of Peter Pan. Sam will be joining the cast in June to kick off the East Coast tour, which will see him performing across three states, starting in the Gold Coast, moving down to Sydney and finishing in Melbourne at the Comedy Theatre in late July.

Sam will be playing the part of a Lost Boy, performing alongside well-known Australian star Todd McKenney and of course working with the amazing Bonnie Lythgoe, co-creator of So You Think You Can Dance.

This is a wonderful opportunity for Sam who is an integral member of our performing arts community at Salesian College Sunbury. Sam started in musical theatre when he was 9 years old. Inspired by his sister and the Flash Dance Performing Arts Company. He is currently studying VCE Music and Drama in addition to VET Music. This is a fantastic achievement for Sam and the College is very proud of him. We wish Sam all the very best in his upcoming performances and will miss him in classes.

Melbourne Performances will run from 21 July to 30 July. Click here to purchase tickets.
