May all Mothers be blessed!

Mothers’ Day was celebrated on Sunday 14 May, and I hope all mothers who are reading this article had a good one with your loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with you as I thank God for many wonderful things you do for your children and grandchildren.

In Catholic tradition, the month May is dedicated to Mary the mother Jesus. We pay special respect to her as she is the one who first listened to God, and brought forth the Word of God into a reality, Jesus Christ.

We believe that Mary watches over us as in the first miracle in Cana not to get embarrassed in moments of celebrations. She surely is the one to pray to in times of need too.

In our Salesian tradition, we celebrate the co-founder of the Salesian Sisters, Maria Mazzarello on 13th and the great feast of Mary Help of Christians on 24th.

Mary the mother of Jesus Christ is also the mother of the Church and the mother of the Salesian Family. We are under her protection and care. She will continue to help us and guide us.

I pray to Mary to watch over all mothers of our Salesian College Community. May she rejoice with you in moments of celebration and strengthen you in times of struggles.

God bless!
