Deputy Principal - Students

The beginning of Term Two has consisted of short but very busy weeks.  This past few weeks saw the successful running of the Athletics Carnival, the College ANZAC Service and Parent Teacher Interviews.  Lots of activity and involvement from all areas of the College, which creates a fantastic feel.

As mentioned, the College held its own ANZAC service on Monday 24 April; this Service provided an experience for our students who were unable to attend an ANZAC Service on the actual day.

College Captains Hannah Graham and Joshua Pinto represented Salesian College at the local Sunbury Service on ANZAC Day, 25 April. They participated in the wreath laying ceremony  with pride and reverence.

The majority of students are in full Winter uniform, with the Year 7 students looking brilliant in the new uniform. It is compulsory to wear Blazers to and from school and the raincoat can be worn over the Blazer to and from the school when it is raining.

We are aware that some Year 7 boys are still waiting on trousers to be delivered to the College, and some students are waiting for rain jackets that have been ordered.

Clarification on the Raincoat
The introduction of the new College uniform has provided us with an opportunity to create a College raincoat as part of the formal College uniform. The Raincoat can be worn to and from school over the blazer when it is raining.

Parents and students were given notification of this towards the end of last year when we published our new Uniform guidelines; this document was included with the end of year reports.  The expectation is that now a raincoat is available [not the Sports spray jacket] that students purchase it from the Uniform shop. The Sports spray jacket is only permissible with the Sports uniform.

The blue and yellow spray jacket, which many families refer to, has always been a non-compulsory item of the Sports uniform. In the absence of a College raincoat, we had permitted students to wear it on wet days only to/from school. This is no longer the case now that the raincoat is available.

For any further queries regarding uniform, please don’t hesitate to contact the College.
