Savio Campus News

We have had a number of fantastic individual and team performances from Savio students recently.

Firstly the Gymnastics team won their level of the competition recently at the Secondary Schools Championships. Year 7 and 8 students who represented the College were: Matilda Gavaghan, Ava Salopayevs, Michaela Morris, Holly Williamson and Gemma Callinan. Congratulations to Tilly Gavaghan who won the individual title also!

Well done to Lachlan Ball (Year 7 MP) who won the Irish Dancing National Championships in Hobart during the holidays. Adjudicated by 7 top international judges, Lachlan is now the National 12 year’s boys’ solo champion. He also won 5 team events and is the current highest national title holder in Australia! He and his sister Madisson also won a national title - the Senior Figure - which is the pinnacle team championship. He will head to Dublin for the World Championships at Easter 2017.

Maddison Nash (Year 7 OY) has made the 2017 State Basketball Team through the Southern Cross Challenge. Maddison competed against over 1000 students and she then took part in the training camp and made the team. Congratulations!

We will be presenting these students and the winners of the Reading Competition and the Roald Dahl Art competition at our assembly on Friday 21 October – parents are warmly invited to join us from 12.15pm in the stadium.
