Student Successes
Two Fridays ago the Bosco Campus met as a group and I was able to use this assembly to congratulate a number of our students on their efforts and successes in a range of areas. To continue that theme of congratulation, I repeat these below:

Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show – AG Success
Congratulations to Trent Oats, Jazmin Patterson and Darcy Frew who were involved in showing our Corridale sheep at the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show. They did exceedingly well in our first sheep showing since 1972. The team brought home the following prizes: first in the open class – Ewe over 1.5yrs and under 2.5yrs (Bella); 2. fourth in the open class – Ewe over 2.5yrs (Grace); third in the open class – Ewe and lamb – the lamb placed third (Lola); third in the schools comp – Ewe and lamb (Bella and George); third in the schools comp – Pairs - Ewe and ram (Bella and Gordon); third in the schools comp – Baby lamb (Lola).

Italian Exchange Students
My thanks to all of the students and families who have hosted Italian exchange students from Trento and Verona, over the past few weeks. One of these exchange students addressed our assembly and thanked the school for the welcome they received and for their experiences in classes.

World Youth Day – Krakow, Poland
Our best wishes to Josh Pinto and Nikhil Hendricks who are currently representing the school and the Archdiocese of Melbourne at World Youth Day in Poland. We look forward to hearing about their trip on their return.

Don Bosco Technical College Siva Tour
My thanks and congratulations to those houses who have completed their fundraising activities in support of the upcoming Siva Tour with students from Don Bosco Technical College in Samoa. Well done to Mahoney, Colliton, Bunjil, O’Grady, and Mannix houses.

And of course a huge well done and congratulations to all Bosco students who were involved in the triumphant musical production Grease over the past weekend. A herculean amount of work goes into a large school production like this, and the rewards were equal to that work. Well done all.

Year 12 Parking at School
A reminder that any students driving to and parking at school need to have applied for a parking permit, and to display it on their dashboard. We need to be able to identify who is parking on site, so if I could ask parents and guardians’ support in checking that students have done this please.

Year 12 VCE Practice Exams
In order to help with your future planning, please note that we will again be hosting Year 12 Practice Exams in the second week of the September holidays. This is a crucial preparation time for our Year 12 VCE students, and they should use these exams as a crucial measure of what they need to work on before the real deal in October and November. Timetables will be available for students in the coming weeks.
