Savio Campus News

Students of the Term
Congratulations to Michaela Morris MY and Matthew Bruce OY who were the Year 7 and 8 Students of the Term. Both students have shown commitment to their studies, co-curricular contribution and the characteristics of our namesake, Dominic Savio. Well done.

College Production
The College Production “Grease” is in its final stages of rehearsal. Tickets are now on sale and we look forward to many Savio parents supporting the Year 7 and 8 students involved.

Premier League success
We were delighted that four of our Year 7 Premier League teams made the finals this year. Well done to the Netball and Girls Basketball teams who reached the semi—finals and the Boys Volleyball and AFL teams who won the Championship.

Year 8’s were given information on Monday this week and emailed documents pertaining to the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program which starts next term. This is compulsory for all Year 8’s. Students who are waiting for a device to be delivered may borrow one from the ICT department on a short or long term loan. Students are required to install a free program called Citrix which enables them access the school’s suite of applications they will need for class called vLearn. Parents and students are encouraged to contact the Digital Learning Leader – Mr Clancy Merrett if they have questions about the program.

Cyber Pass
As all our students will have devices next term, the pastoral program will include an online certificate called Cyber Pass. This is an 8 module certificate that students will work through looking at Cyber safety and responsibilities in their Friday periods with their Homeroom Leader. All students will be expected to complete this by the end of the year to enable them to continue with the BYOD program in 2017.
