Deputy Principal - Learning & Teaching

Semester 2
We commence Semester 2 on Tuesday 14 June. I encourage all students to spend some time reflecting on their approach to Semester 1 and use this new semester as an opportunity for growth and to work on any areas that they identify as a challenge. All new timetables will be on Daymap after 4pm on Friday 10 June. Just a reminder that subject changes for Semester 2 have now well and truly closed, the due date was Friday 3 June. No subject changes will take place as of now, we don’t move students based on friendship groups or preferred classes so please support us in this once timetables are released.

Please be mindful that with a change of semester there could be some teacher changes, this will be more apparent in Year 10 as we do move students English, Maths or RE classes to ensure they get their elective preferences. Our Year 10 courses are set up to mirror our senior school pathways, so we encourage students to trial subjects in Year 10 with a focus on deciding which pathway or VCE Unit 1 – 4 sequences to complete.

Reports
All Semester 1 reports will be sent home with your children on Friday 24 June. We will mail reports if students are absent or if your family has registered to receive a second copy of the report. Please be expecting them on this day and ensure they come out of school bags.

Subject Selection
Our 2017 subject selection process will commence early in Term 3. It seems early, but getting 1250 students into their desired subjects takes a great deal of time. Our current Year 9 – 11 students and their families should attend our Subject Selection Evening on Tuesday 19th July.

All subject handbooks and a subject selection presentation are available on our website under the Learning & Teaching tab. These handbooks will be updated before the end of term ready for 2017
