Savio Campus News

Savio Campus

It has been a busy term but I have been delighted with the way our Year 7 and 8 students have settled into their new routines. Students have worked hard at their studies and deserve a restful break when it comes. I wish all Savio families a safe, holy and relaxing holiday.

Year 7 Family Night

Thank you to all the families who attended our Year 7 evening. It was wonderful to meet parents, especially those new to the College. I hope those who joined us enjoyed seeing the House areas and your child’s homeroom, locker and classrooms, as well as meeting the key staff involved in looking after the pastoral care of your child.

Swimming Carnival

The sun was in full force for our Savio Feast Day Mass and Swimming Carnival this year but we soldiered on all the same. It was great to celebrate together and House Spirit was certainly in evidence with some fantastic costumes! Congratulations to Bunjil House who were again successful in the pool.

BASSH

Our before and afterschool homework help has been popular this term – with Savio students utilizing or new campus area. Many thanks to the staff, led by Mrs Christenson, who give up their free time to help students who take advantage of this amazing opportunity.

Leadership Day

Our Year 8 leaders were involved in a training day on Friday run through external group High Resolves. A stimulating morning discussion was followed by a real life United Nations simulation on climate change. The students were fully involved and gained a great deal of insight into the qualities and characteristics of a good leader to put them in a good position to lead out Campus this year.
