Year 10, VCE & VCAL for 2016 - Subject & Course Selection

With Term 2 finishing this week the academic year is now well and truly half way. It is important that all senior students seriously consider their chosen pathway for 2016 and beyond. To assist current Year 9, 10 and 11 students with subject selection we will be holding our annual Subject Information Session on Tuesday the 21st of July here at the College. We strongly encourage all students and their families to come along to hear about the VCE, VCAL and VET courses and subjects available in 2016, some of which will be new.

Students and their families should give careful consideration to which subjects are selected for 2016 as selecting suitable subjects will ensure that that future results are maximised, prerequisites for tertiary courses are met and that future pathways are opened and explored before leaving secondary school. The College has a Subject Selection Handbook that will be made available on the college website in the second week of Term 3 so that students and their families have the information they require to make well informed choices for their future. Please access this valuable resource when it becomes available.

The Sunbury & Gisborne Careers and Employment Expo is on again this year on Wednesday the 22nd of July in the Sunbury Memorial Hall. It too will prove to be a very valuable resource for students and families to access when gathering information to make choices about future careers and courses. The expo is an event that is put on by the Pathways staff from the Secondary schools in the region and always provides lots of thought provoking displays and experts from industry that you can speak with directly on the day.

Have a Happy and Safe Holiday!

With the shortest day of the year now behind us we can look forward to longer days, some warmer weather (eventually!) and hopefully some success in sporting finals for our chosen team. I hope that all students take advantage of the break to rest up, spend time with family and friends and prepare books, uniform and attitudes for a very positive and productive Term 3.

Best wishes for a well deserved break.
