Savio Campus News

Anzac Day Service

Many thanks to the Savio students who took part in our Anzac Day service. It was a solemn occasion but an excellent opportunity for our students to commemorate and remember this important occasion.

Academic news

For both Years 7 and 8 this term focuses on academic rigor, with many assignments and tests being set in the lead up to the end of Semester One. Year 7’s are sitting NAPLAN in week 5 and information will be going home about this. Year 8’s will sit their first exams in week 8 of this term and should be adding revision for these on top of their normal workload. Students need to be organized and plan their time carefully to ensure that they meet all their deadlines.

Premier League

We had much success in our first round of the Premier League, with all 4 teams posting wins. Special mention to the Boys Soccer team who won – a first at Salesian for a long time. Well done!

Athletics Day

Our Year 7’s and 8’s had their first Athletics Day at SCR, as the event was cancelled last year. It was a great day for our athletes. Congratulations to the age group winners:

Under 13 Girls Winner  - Madison Kleiner Naughton, Under 14 Girls Winner  - Lily Scanlon Mackillop, Under 14 Boys Winner - Josh Emerson Bunjil and the Under 13 Boys Winner was Lachlan Jorgenson Mahoney. Lachlan also broke the School record for the U13 Javelin and the School record for the U13 400m in a time of 57.87. He was awarded the Peter Goddan Medal on the day for most outstanding effort by a junior athlete.
