Year 11 Student Rhys Willam recently competed in a Japanese Speech competition. He has made the College extremely proud with his efforts. Here is his account of the event.
Recently I participated in the Japanese Speech competition at Melbourne University. This was a great learning experience for me and the others who had taken part in this competition, and I would recommend to anyone who wants to push the boundaries and give themselves a challenge, to participate in this event. For me it was a great way to get over my stage fright, improve my Japanese speaking skills and have a better understand on how to write a script for a Japanese oral or for any script in that matter. It truly was a learning experience which has shaped me for the better and which I will never forget, would it because of the feeling of my heart beating in my chest and moving my whole body or watching some truly remarkable student show their skills, therefore better improving my understanding of this wonderful language.
I hope that anyone who is studying Japanese plans to partake in this truly wonderful event.
