With Spring just around the corner the farm staff have been keeping very busy ensuring both our crops and animals are kept in the best of health so that they're both ready for another busy season of growth and development. The rainfall recently has proven to be very reliable and our crops are looking in very good health, especially after having recently completed our spraying program. The livestock however are quick to make sure our crops are not taking all of the spotlight, with weight gain across our herds and flocks being well and the animals looking to be in very good health.
Spring is undoubtedbly the busiest season both on and off the farm for our agricultural program with all our livestock scholarship teams actively making those last minute touch ups to there animals, so that they’re ready for the big Royal Melbourne Show to be held from September 19 to October 1, be sure to make the trip to have a look!
Planning is also well and truly underway for the annual Rupertswood Harvest, with the event looking to be yet another important date to mark on the calendar! We hope to see you all there on Friday 25 October, between 4pm and 8pm.
Finally, the Free-range hens tenderly cared for by our VCAL students have been working very hard lately producing an abundance of delicious eggs. Eggs are on sale in the Mansion or at Gatehouse Cafe for $6. Orders can be made by phoning the College on 9744 0000 or emailing email@example.com
