Our fantastic Concert Band performed at the final assembly for the Year 12’s on 18 October. The Band played the stirring theme from the movie “Avengers” as the Year 12’s walked out of the assembly for the final time. The band rehearses weekly on Mondays and have been working hard all year to rapidly develop into a performing powerhouse. Concert Band also played at the Rupertswood Harvest festival in challenging and windy conditions on the outdoor stage. Our next band performance will be at the Celebration of Excellence Awards on Monday 18 November, don’t miss it!
Our choir performed at the Year 12 Graduation mass on Tuesday 22 October. Our choir rehearses weekly on Friday lunchtimes and new members are welcome to join our growing and exciting group of singers. Choir will perform next at the Savio Assembly on Monday 18 November. Thank you to music teacher Rachel Andrews, piano, and voice tutor Elaine Potter who assist with the choir and inspire our singers.
Well done to our Year 11 Dance students who performed their composition pieces on October 29 to an audience of family and friends. Our Junior Dance students will be performing on 12 November in the Ballroom from 6.30pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend to see the wonderful work they have been doing this semester.
Our VCE Visual Arts students across Media, Studio Arts and Visual Communication & Design have been working incredibly hard over the last few months to research and develop designs for their final assessment pieces.
The Rupertswood Harvest saw all of their work showcased to the community in our SAGE Gallery and throughout the Mansion. Congratulations to all of our Visual Arts students for their amazing efforts and for the perseverance they have displayed in undertaking such a large task.
Our fantastic new Guitar Ensemble performed at the Rupertswood Harvest to great acclaim. Led by guitar tutor Shane Ryall the guitar ensemble rehearse weekly on a Wednesday lunchtime. They have a rapidly expanding repertoire and guitar players are welcome to join.
In November, we have a number of Musical Soirees. During these performances, students play a solo or duet item. Parents and friends are welcome to attend. They are held during lunchtime so that students may invite their school friends to watch and inspire other students to start learning an instrument.
