The College is exceptionally well resourced with our Student Hub. The main function of this is Student Reception and First Aid. The Student Hub is looked after by Jo Little (Student Hub Administrator) and Sarah Isherwood (School Nurse).
Child Safety Standards require the College to be diligent in protocols regarding students coming late to school and/or going home early.
Please ensure families/guardians call the following phone number to notify the school of absence: 03 9744 0053
When a child needs to leave the College early on a day (due to illness, appointment, etc.) the following process needs to occur:
An adult must come into Student Hub and collect the student before they are officially signed out.
In the event of a student not feeling well at school, the following process takes place:
Students are not permitted to contact home via their personal mobile phone and them simply go home, or have the parent/guardian arrive at the College to say their child is ill. The process in place is to ensure that the child is safe and under the care of the College until officially signed out by a parent/guardian. The College really requires your support in this process.
We know transition is a time of high risk for both families and students. Poor transition can have a lasting legacy on engagement to school and mental health. It is always better to act early; anxiety - as an example - is very curable if managed early.
The College has a team of professionals available to provide wellbeing support to students to help with personal, emotional, social, and relationship difficulties, or if they are having trouble adjusting to College life. Our Wellbeing team is made up of:
The team can provide a range of strategies to help students do their best. This service is free and confidential and referrals to outside agencies are made where appropriate.
Feel free to contact us via email, or tell your student to drop in and see us in P Block (above the Student Hub).
