As the class of 2020 begins their exciting journey with Year 12 lessons already beginning during the Step Up program, we still feel it is also important to set aside valuable time to come together and reflect on what awaits us.
On Tuesday 26 November, we gathered at the University of Melbourne’s Newman College to discuss the important things in life outside of our studies. In working with Dr Alicia Franklin, staff and students discussed the importance of maintaining happiness and gratefulness within the everyday. Mr Brockhus and Fr Papworth discussed the implications of the 2020 Strenna on students as they assume leadership roles next year. We were also joined by two time Richmond Premiership player Dylan Grimes who explained just how important reflection, meditation, and the courage to change have been in his life and his team’s recent success.
Not surprisingly, the students were fantastic in their attentiveness and active participation in all activities. It was a long day but extremely worthwhile and an important early milestone in the journey of 2020.
