We have hit the ground running in Term 3 with plenty of Sport taking place in the first two weeks. Our Senior Soccer teams have started their campaigns with the boys coming from behind to beat CRC Melton, but going down to a talented Kolbe College team. Our girls have moved up into Division 1 this season after winning Division 2 last season. We’ve found it tough going against some really big soccer schools, but the girls have represented the College with great pride. We wish both teams luck for the remainder of the season.
Our Year 9 Premier League teams have also played their first two rounds of competition and have shown great competitive spirit in their matches. Our Year 9 cohort has taken out the ‘Premier League Aggregate’ for the past two years, which is awarded to the College who scores the most points in the final standings across all eight sports. Current results indicate that we’ll be very competitive again.
With Junior and Intermediate Tennis competitions taking place in September, we have conducted tennis tryouts nice and early at the at the Sunbury Tennis Club last week. This aims to give every student the opportunity to tryout and ensure we select the best team possible to represent the College. Well done to those students who have been selected.
On Thursday 25 July, we sent our Chess Team to represent the College at the annual SACCSS Chess Tournament. The boys did a great job representing the College, with staff from other Colleges commenting on how well our boys had conducted themselves throughout the day.
We look forward to our Senior Futsal teams competing in the Senior SACCSS Futsal Tournament at Albert Park next week. Although they will be coming against some of the best soccer schools in the state, we know they will give their all.
