Thanks to our partnership with Sunbury Coaches, we have a Private bus service available that operates servicing families from Woodend, Macedon,
Mt Macedon, Bullengarook, New Gisborne, Gisborne, South Gisborne, Riddells Creek and Romsey. This is a user pays service.
These buses use a bus management system to provide peace of mind to both parents and the school whilst buses are in transit. The RollCall system allows parents to manage your children's bus absences, set the notifications that you want to receive (e.g. boarded bus / tapped off bus) and even track the bus that your child is riding on.
Students “tap on” and “tap off” (just like they do with a Myki card) using their Student ID Card and parents can track this in real time on their device.
Apart from the MET Buses that operate within Sunbury, several Government-funded buses also transport children to and from school from outer areas. These service the localities of:
BULLENGAROOK via Gisborne
GISBORNE via South Gisborne/Calder Highway
ROMSEY via Riddells Creek
AIRPORT WEST via Gladstone Park/Tullamarine
WESTMEADOWS via Gladstone Park
Those travellers who wish to travel by train, would need to stop at Sunbury Station and then catch the designated bus to Salesian College in accordance with the train schedule for individual stations. As an alternative to walking, the PTV operates a service from Sunbury Station to Salesian College:
AM Departs Sunbury Station at 8.20am Arrives Salesian College at 8.30am
PM Departs Salesian College at 3.40pm Arrives Sunbury Station at 3.50pm
Students are encouraged to ride a bicycle to school. The College has a Bicycle Lock-up which can be used by all students to secure their bicycles
during the school day. This lock-up is maintained by the Deputy Principal, Student Services, who allocates a code to any student requiring
this for accessing the bicycle lock-up during the day.
